A brief history
of Herbelin watches.
Herbelin is a third generation, family owned watch company. Established by Michel in 1947 and now run by his two grandsons Maxime & Mathieu.
The company is based in Charquemont in the French Jura mountains close to the border with Switzerland, where everything is designed and assembled inhouse using Swiss movements and high quality components to create their unique timepieces.
The 1980s saw the launch of the iconic Newport “yacht porthole” collection. In the early 2000s, the women’s Antarès line introduced a stylish quick‑change strap system. Today run by the third generation, Herbelin hand‑assembles each Swiss‑movement timepiece, preserving artisanal French craftsmanship with global reach.
