ECO-DRIVE TECHNOLOGY
Citizen’s unique Eco-Drive technology is designed to convert both natural and artificial light into energy to power watches.
In 1976, Citizen invented the first light-powered analog quartz watch which ran exclusively on light as its power source. This technology can generate power from any light source and keep their watches running without ever needing to replace batteries.
Eco-Drive pieces can run for months, even in the dark.

ATOMIC-TIMEKEEPING
A signal containing the precise time, day and date, measured by an atomic clock accurate to one second every 100,000 years, is sent directly to the watch using standard radio waves.
To avoid interference with smartphones and other electronics used during our busy days, our Atomic Timekeeping watches receive radio signals late at night to adjust your watch to the correct time and day.
Combined with our proprietary light powered Eco-Drive technology, when owning a Citizen Atomic Timekeeping watch you will get precise time powered by any light source.

SUPER-TITANIUM™
Citizen have always been an innovative brand, not just in the internal technology, but in the materials used to craft their timepieces. In 1970, they launched the world's first watch created using solid titanium, which was light-weight, hypoallergenic, and resistant to rusting.
Citizen applied a surface hardening technology, Duratect, to crafted titanium to create the Super TitaniumTM used in their watches. This means the watches are more then 5 times harder wearing and approximately 40% lighter than traditional stainless steel.
