Delivery and Returns
All online purchases are shipped next day delivery when placed before 2pm or unless otherwise requested. Any orders placed after 2pm Friday will be shipped on Monday. If for any reason you are unhappy with your purchase, please contact us within 7 days of receipt to discuss your options. In store purchases are subject to 28 days exchange or credit unless goods are faulty. This does not affect your statutory rights. During December we offer an extended returns/exchange policy to provide peace of mind when purchasing any gifts.
On orders placed before 2pm we will endeavour to ship same day.
Free Delivery for all orders over £100. These are sent by Royal Mail Special Delivery. This service delivers within 1 - 2 working days to mainland UK.
Orders under £100 are sent tracked and signed and subject to shipping charges.
Overseas orders are subject to international shipping charges and the recipient is responsible for any import or duty charges on receipt.
Please note all items will need to be signed for at the point of delivery. If your order is returned because the postal service or courier were for whatever reason unable to deliver, you will be responsible for all return and repeat delivery charges. If someone without authority signs for the purchase at the address you have given us, it will not be the responsibility of James Porter & Son.
In Store Collection
You can collect online orders in store too. Please select the ‘in store collection’ option at the checkout. You can select a time and date to suit for collection.
Orders will be ready same day if placed before 2pm, we will contact you if there are any delays or the collection slot selected is unavailable.
You will need to show a copy of your order and some ID to collect in store.
Online orders are to be collected from our flagship store at 24-26 Argyll Arcade.
Returns Policy and Procedure
If you are unhappy with your purchase and wish to return your order to us, please take the following action:
Please note that we cannot exchange or refund items engraved or in anyway personalised unless they are defective or faulty. The offer of a refund or an exchange does not apply to bespoke order items (ie items that we do not currently carry in stock or special order items).

- Item(s) must be returned to us via Royal Mail Special Delivery for UK orders and via UPS for overseas orders.

Please retain proof of postage as we cannot be held responsible for items lost in transit.
- All items must be returned in an unused (re-saleable) condition. The original packaging must be intact, and proof of purchase enclosed.
- Unless faulty, the customer is responsible for the postage costs incurred when returning an item
We request that returns are shipped through Royal Mail Special Delivery. Please note that we do not accept liability for returned goods if you do not return them to us via Royal Mail Special Delivery.
Items may be returned for an exchange or credit note. If all the above conditions have been met then we will refund the price of the items, however there will be no refunds for any delivery charges. If the items have been worn/damaged by the customer is not entitled to a refund.
If the products you return are faulty, incorrect or damaged in transit, we will offer you a replacement or refund you the cost of the return postage, as well as the goods and your original postage change providing there is no evidence of the goods being damaged after delivery.
