DISCOVER BYRNE
The Genesis of Byrne Watch is the story that begins over 30 years ago, with John Byrne who was working in Watch Restoration, learning the craft and techniques needed to excel in his trade. He specialised in returning to life vintage watches, allowing them to continue their story into the future. John always had a desire to create something unique and began to consider what that might look like.
It was in 2015, whist at a performance of George Balanchine’s Apollon Musagete in Paris that the moment of inspiration came, when watching a tableau where the dancers, positioned in line, began to switch places so rapidly and seamlessly, as to give the impression they were one albeit with switching faces. BYRNE was born in that moment, create a watch with multiple faces: the Byrne GyroDial.

ABOUT
JOHN BYRNE - DESIGNER
Fascinated by watches from an early age, by a stroke of good fortune John’s path would cross that of the mentors who would open the doors to the watchmaking world. As a restorer of antique and modern timepieces, he can spend days working out how to bring a watch back to life for the simple pleasure of presenting its owner with this mechanical prowess. A trained designer, he views objects with a technician’s uncompromising eye. From the initial idea to the first Byrne prototype, not a single detail escaped his notice. His one obsession: to create a watch that no-one had expected; a watch that would be elegant to wear and perfect in every way.
