In Japan, the annual calendar is segmented into 24 micro seasons, known as ‘Sekki.’ The eighteenth Sekki - known as Sōkō - marks winter's early frost that comes at the end of autumn. Sōkō, meaning 'frost descends' is the time of year when the forests begin to freeze and the cold turns the sky above the Sea of Japan a clear crystal blue. The dial of this piece is inspired by the frost and these icy blue skies.
 
This piece features a 'Kirazuri' dial, meaning 'sparkling painting,' due to the way it shimmers in the light. Enclosed in box-sapphire crystal glass, it showcases Grand Seiko's classic 62GS design - a re-imagined style based on Grand Seiko's first ever automatic watch. With multi-faceted sides, Zaratsu and mirror-finishing, this piece glimmers at every angle.
 
Powered by an in-house 9S85 Hi-Beat movement, this piece vibrates 36,000 times per hour for smooth precision. Accurate to +5/-3 seconds per day, this piece also has a 55-hour power reserve.
