Seiko have always been innovative, forward thinking and driven to achieve the greatest standard in watchmaking. It is this drive that inspired the very first Grand Seiko produced in Japan in 1960.

Simplicity was, and still is, the key focus of these watches. Functional simplicity is the true underpinning of a Grand Seiko. Their ambition was to create the the 'ultimate watch' with four central core values; beautiful design, accuracy, wearability and legibility. A watch for for everyday wear and purpose, that is built to last and made to be maintained.

Grand Seiko have only been sold outside of Japan since 2010, which is why, perhaps, some people may not be familiar with this high end offering from Seiko. It is worth noting that grand Seiko outsells Rolex in Japan. While Swiss horology is held in the highest of esteem we believe Grand seiko is here to truly test that long held belief that Swiss is " better".

At BaselWorld 2017 Grand Seiko became its own separate brand, and will long be continuing its original values, as well as pushing technological boundaries.

We here at James Porter & Son are proud to be the only stockists of Grand Seiko in Scotland.
