We here at James Porter & Son are thrilled to be partnering with Studio Underd0g. This microbrand is owned and run by Richard, who lives and breathes watches. A designer by trade, he has worked in the industry for over 5 years and his entrepreneurial mindset has led to his goal of his own watch brand. Studio Underd0g is very much a passion project which has been brought to life with the overwhelming positive feedback received from the watch enthusiast community. The second generation of Studio Underd0g watches are all assembled in Great Britain.

01SERIES
The 01Series chronograph models feature a stunning mid-century silhouette while integrating a refreshingly modern dégradé dial.
Each model has its own very unique inspiration for the colour and design scheme, whilst housing the ST-1901 mechanical hand-wound movement. This movement has a very rich history; starting life as a Swiss Venus Cal.175 before the tooling and technical drawings were sold to the Chinese Airforce in the 1960s. The latest version in the Gen2 01Series also features a silver coloured Swan Neck regulator.
02SERIES
It wouldn’t be a Studio Underd0g watch without a playful twist. Using current-day machining techniques and materials to create a sandwich dial like no other. The base dial features seven layers of custom-made Super-LumiNova pigment.
Mounted on top of the base dial is a 1mm sapphire disc is the branding and dial details, affixed with two slotted had screws to create a chunky dial with real depth. In daylight, the printing appears to float, casting a shadow on the lower base dial to create a dynamic and ever-changing appearance.

VALUES AND DESIGN
Despite Studio Underd0gs playful approach to watchmaking, they don’t joke around when it comes to design. Every detail, texture, material, finishing and colour of their watches have been meticulously thought through.
Studio Underd0g watches are assembled in great Britain, and undergo a full independent QC inspection before they’re shipped out thanks to their partnership with Horologium.

It is incredibly exciting to see a resurgence in British brands in the horological space, and Studio Underd0g want to see this horological space grow.
As a fifth generation independent retailer ourselves, we love to see this.
Studio Underd0g are partnered with David Richards, AKA The Strap Tailor, to offer beautifully supple handmade straps with each watch.
