Grand Seiko watches were launched in 1960, hand assembled and with an aim for perfection. King Seiko watches followed a year later, demonstrating that the Japanese watchmaker could bring a high-quality timepiece to a wider audience. Manufacture of King Seiko was based in Tokyo and prices were lower, making them more accessible for consumers.
