Meticulously curating the brands we offer online and at our physical boutiques is paramount to James Porter & Son. We proudly work with some of the world's most remarkable and creative brands in watchmaking today. So when it came to collaborating with Bristol-based Fears to commemorate our specialist watch boutique in the heart of Argyll Arcade, we knew we wanted to do things a little differently. Firstly, we rolled out interpretations of their often sold-out, highly desirable models with custom James Porter & Son retailer-signed dials; but then we thought, why not take things to the next level? The goal was a bespoke built creation exclusive to us that delivered something totally fresh and truly special: the result was this, the Fears Brunswick x James Porter & Son Limited Edition. 

Crafted from stainless steel and fitted with a gunmetal grey dial featuring rhodium-plated furniture, this particular variant of the effortlessly chic Brunswick carries a dynamic, contemporary appearance unlike any other in the Fears line-up. Thanks to galvanic plating and the addition of black pigments to the lacquer, the dial frequently undergoes a shifting transition in colour and tone, starting from light, clean grey and gradually transforming into a deep, urban black. This unique impression is pronounced further by a vertical brushing which highlights various other hues depending on light conditions. Sitting lower than the rest of the dial is a subsidiary seconds register at six o'clock, complete with a concentric circle guilloché pattern, silver printing for the markings, and the 'James Porter & Son' retailer signature above. Adding to the notion of depth are the raised 'Edwin' numerals which are diamond-polished and rhodium plated, just like the sharp skeletonised Fears-style hands.

The ETA 7001 beating at the heart of this Brunswick is fused with additional Côtes de Genève striping to bolster its desirable credentials. The Brunswick x James Porter & Son Limited Edition is fitted to a Fears Pewter Grey leather strap accentuating the silvery hue of the uniquely executed dial elements and elevating the versatility of this modernly expressed piece tenfold.
