HISTORY OF NOMOS GLASHÜTTE
Founded by Roland Schwertner in 1990, today NOMOS Glashütte is the largest manufacturer of mechanical timepieces in Germany. NOMOS Glashütte exclusively develops and produces its own calibers; each timepiece is made in-house, on site, in Glashütte.
Almost everything inside a Nomos is made by hand. Milling plates, bridges, and wheels, bluing screws, bevelling edges, finely regulating calibers—building the best watches requires a great deal of patience.
It often takes years from the first design drawing to the finished product that can be sent out into the world.
