What is the history behind Seiko watches?
In 1881, Kintaro Hattori opened a shop in Ginza, Tokyo repairing and selling clocks. In 1892, he purchased a factory and launched the Seikosha brand, producing clocks. The first Seiko wristwatch was part of a relaunch in December 1924, following the destruction of the Seikosha factory in the 1923 Great Kanto Earthquake.
